Partnership for the development of the HR field

Description of the event

The closing conference of the project "Partnership for the development of the HR field”, co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Sectoral Operational Program Human Resources Development 2007-2013 was designed around the change management theme. Internationally well-known speakers and HR professionals from prestigious organizations in Romania were invited to attend this event. The participants had the occasion to talk to Maury Peiperl, Professor of Leadership and Strategic Change at IMD Lausanne Institute, on how organizations must adapt to their new business environments in order to be more flexible, more efficient and customer oriented.

In the second part of the conference we focused on experience exchange and informal discussions about performance management, organizational development, human resources strategy and compensation and benefits.

During the event we celebrated the results obtained by HR Club with the help of its members, staff and partners in the development of the HR professionals community in Romania:

1. Over 7.000 online resources available on the HR Club portal.

2. The first manual of best practices in HR management published by the Association. Erratum: In the print edition disseminated during the conference, the quotation on page 72 does not belong to Mr. Ioan Boscu, General Manager of Honeywell Life Safety Romania. For the correct version, please consult the online edition of the manual. We apologize to Mr. Boscu and our readers for this error.

3. The first edition of the quarterly survey "HR Outlook Q1/2010” (available in the Resources Section)

4. Meetings with authorities, seminars of information and counseling in labor law

Of the over 300 people attending the event on June 10, 2010, the majority were HR practitioners - HR Club members and partners (70%), general managers of organizations in Romania (10%), representatives of public institutions, trade unions, employers’ associations and NGOs which are representative for the HR field in Romania (10%) and media (10%). So far, 106 participants have answered the feedback questionnaire. On a scale from 1 (disappointing) to 5 (excellent), 92% of respondents were satisfied and very satisfied with the content of the conference (4/5 and 5/5) and 98% gave similar feedback to logistics.
